General Conference

I thought it would be neat for the kids to be able to see someday what they did during General Conference as teeny kiddos. Here was the Sunday morning session
Growing up, until I was 18 or so, I ALWAYS watched General Conference at the nearest stake center. We got dressed in our Sunday best, and headed off to church to watch it broadcast via satellite either in the chapel, or in any of the adjacent rooms in the building on the many small-ish TV's from the library (I used to brag to my friends that we had a satellite at our church). I don't know that we had it available on TV at all at that point as EVERYONE was at the church watching it, we weren't the rarity.

Now, we sit at home, sometimes in our pajama's or casual clothes, not in our Sunday best. I don't think its essential to dress up for it when at home. Neither does Penny. In fact, she hardly got dressed at all.

At one point the organist was on and then they went to a shot of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir again. Penny exclaimed, "Mom, I want to see the man with 3 arms again." It took me a second, but then I burst into tears laughing when I realized what she was talking about.
I printed off packets for Dominic and Penny. In past years, these hardly have kept Dominic's attention. They just weren't the right kind of activities, so I thought. This year, I told him it was all he could do or sit on the couch just listening. It was amazing what he then participated in! And since he was doing it, so did Penny.
Hard at work coloring her picture of the prophet.
We got lots and lots of snuggle time in with our little squishy.
He slept like this, snacking on my finger, for over an hour. So silly.

Dominic took really good notes of some of the talks. I was quite proud of the information he chose to pay attention to and put on paper.

I really enjoyed General Conference, as always. I was prepared for this weekend though, and that really helped us stay focused and pay attention. My kids knew what to expect on Saturday and Sunday and I had nowhere to be. It was so nice. I can't wait for some of the talks to come out in the November Ensign

Hey! You! Do you have your profile yet?

Katie, you are such a good mommy! Taking pics was a great idea. I will have to remember that for April. We also printed the packets and the boys loved them.

Those pictures made me want to snuggled that sweet baby of yours! I'm going to miss the day when I don't have a baby to snuggled in my arms.
