LIFE PICS

On come the terrible twos and tantrums. I don't even know how this tantrum started but she was persistent to have the tantrum right in front of the garage door last week, on the kinda dirty floor staring at the light box. It was pathetic. Crying for no reason for seriously 30 minutes. She wouldn't let me cuddle her, talk to her or even sit in the room. I just let her cry it out.

She kept saying things like "Leave me alone." "I don't want it." "Go away" You know, all the phrases that make you feel real good when your toddler says them to you. Distractions didn't work ("Hey Penny, where's your doll? Did you lose a shoe? I've got a cookie! Would you like a bottle of milk?").

Tsk Tsk Penny. If there is going to be a next time, can you have the tantrum when Dad is home and not in the middle of me cooking dinner? Just a thought.

And then Daddy came home and it she acted like an angel the rest of the night. Was it just her way of telling me, "I'm bored with you mom."
Handsome boy. I could lick all the ice cream off a face like this. Just in case you didn't know, this is what a second grader looks like.

I know, I had forgotten how bad the tantrums are at that age, but now even Charlie is starting to do them.

She could be reacting to all the changes you guys have gone through lately, and this was just her way of letting it out. I didn't have to deal with tantrums until my kids were much older, and by then I don't think they were still considered "tantrums." Sometimes you just have to be patient and ride it out.

Yeah, she didn't get a full nap that day either which I'm sure added to the stress of everything else. She hasn't had another meltdown thank goodness. =)

I remember thinking that Jackson had tantrums before ages 2-3, and then when he really had a tantrum, I realized that I had no clue what I was dealing with at first! Those kids sure can put up a fight.

Next time you guys come to Utah, we need to get Penny and Parker together. I laugh every time I read your posts about her. Sorry about the tantrum though..those are rough.

Isn't it amazing how when Dad walks through the door it's like they have been perfect angels! Tantrums and all, she is still a little cutie!

Ugh...I do not miss those days and I'm not looking forward to being there again...And just think, once she's finally over the tantrums, she'll mouth off and insist on doing everything herself and "pretend" to not hear you! Yea, lovin' the 3s (and he's not even 3!!!). Daddy's are magical.
