Our kiddos

Dominic got a new haircut. He wanted to be able to do a faux hawk. He's still able to wear it down like he normally does, but he LOVES it like this. Grandma Penny got Penny this cute red dress and it fits her already. She was struttin her stuff.
I was mad that this one was so out of focus, but I played with it and was able to at least get it like this to make it look neat. They like eachother so much. Which is good, cuz like my mom always would tell us, "you're stuck with us for eternity so you might as well learn to be friends"
Love them!

Horsie Ride

I find this video funny because Penny frantically tries to sign horse while she's riding away and because Dominic finds the horsie ride funner than Penny does. And Penny loves her horses and babies.

DIAPER CHANGING TIME!

We've had to change the position we change Penny otherwise she gets her hands all dirty. Needless to say, its quite entertaining becuase it makes her wiggle.
Last night we poked our heads in the kids room to get our last look (we love them and miss them at night) before we went to bed. Sean opened the door and was overpowered by a stinky diaper smell. I went it and got her, brought her out to the living room, undressed her, changed her and re-dressed her without her making a peep. Here she is all cleaned up and ready to go back to her crib.

One last video

This morning I gave Penny a mirror and she was playing peek-a-boo with the baby in the mirror.

$5 garage sale

I bought this at a garage sale today for a whopping $5. We had one of these in my house when I was little so I couldn't pass it up. Dominic and Penny have been bouncing on it all day long. This video is long and kinda boring, but its us in all our glory. Penny screaming bou bou bou boub ou (bounce) over and over and over.

This was the first time she said the word Nose..... her, waving her finger around is the sign for "where?" as in, "where is Dominic."

Her butt hit the trampoline so hard once today that it knocked her over the edge. She laughed really hard about it and then got back on. She's a crazy kid.

Dominic is trying to learn to jump rope on the trampoline.

I on the other hand, am working up to it. Somehow its not the same as when I was little. Two kids later it makes me want to pee my pants.

Last day of soccer

Dominic had his last soccer game of the year today as well as his team soccer party. To top it off he even scored a goal! It was his only one of the season and coach was really pushing the kids to get the ball to Dominic so he could score. Turns out he didn't need the help. During a goalie kick on the other team, it went right to Dominic who kicked it right in. It was a really good goal and he was so proud. After his party he said, "this is the best day of my life." How can you top that? (stark contrast to a week ago when he stated, "You're ruining my life" because I wouldn't let him go to his friends house as he stomped off to his room.) Aaaaaaaaaaanyways, he had a great day and we were so proud of him. They got a small juggler soccer ball, a trophy and a medal. That was way too cool for my six year old! We are so proud of you Dominic, you had a great soccer season!

All sweaty, it was a REALLY hot Saturday.

These were his soccer pictures. What a handsome boy

Penny shots

This is after she ate all the applesauce below and got a ba ba ba ba baaaaa last night (see video below). Then she fell asleep and Grandma got to snuggle with her.

Tonight she fell asleep and got to snuggle with Daddy. We can't get enough of her. Dominic has asked if she can sleep with him lately, so cute. I wish I could let him (He's up on a loft bed beside the fact that its not safe anyways).
In this video she says : eww eww eww, Dominic, mama, dada, bath, and at the very end baby. She's covered in applesauce that she fed to herself with a spoon. She wouldn't let me feed her so whatever, we stripped her down and let her at it.

Dominic went out side and collected some fall leaves and then glued them on paper. I think I might modge-podge them and frame it. Its really cute in a mom-kind-of-way. He's actually lost TV and videogames for the next week and a half and I'm enjoying being crafty with him. Perhaps we'll just hide them and keep it going?
Getting leaves outside. Its perfect weather, tad bit brisk and sunny. Grandma has a great yard for exploring.
Yay! He did it. Dominic pulled out his 4th tooth on Saturday night while our cousin Megan and Anam were over babysitting. Good thing too cuz it was causing stress in our home (lol). Its like a hangnail and everytime I saw it I wanted him to pull it. His toothless grin is priceless. Needless to say, we've been singing the song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"
He's such a good boy. Writing in his journal.

baby curls

Her curls are getting longer.........
Penny has started talking and won't shut-up about her BEEBY. New words are fun! Other words she's started saying are: down, no-no, la la la (thanks Elmo phone), ma ma, da da, Dominini, shhhh, Hiiiiiiiiiiiy (hi), hot, bath, Baaaaaaaaaaal (ball), and up. She makes other noises for things like bird, plug, dog, cat, ears, nose, eyes but they don't sound quite exactly like the word. They are more just the noise of the first letter as she signs them. She can sign over 75 words. Recently she walks up to me and will move my head so I'm looking at her while she signs milk because I've been trying to feed her more instead of nurse her all day. She waits until I've made eye contact with her to let me know that she means business. Its pretty darn cute.

Penny Poo poo

She just gets so sleepy sometimes. I love the chubby-ness of her hand and cheek. This is why I lay in bed with her all day (okay not all day but I would if I didn't have stuff to do!).
Trick-or-treating wears a girl out. These pillows are for her carseat, but I quick grabbed them off and put them on the stroller cuz I knew she would be falling asleep. It was a long day!
She can walk now, wherever she wants. She's getting really really good at walking. However, when she uses her walker...she can zip around the kitchen sooooo fast. If she hits a barrier, she just pivots and goes again. Its great to watch.
So fun! Her hair is seriously out of control.

Notice Sean's Yes on 8 shirt! I had mine on too. Thanks Jennie! Make sure you make it to the end for her animal noises!

Meeting the Challenges of Today

Below are excerpts from an amazing devotional given to BYU students in 1978. See the whole talk here. Recently, some members of the LDS faith have chosen to not take a stance on certain issues (proposition 8 is an example, but not the only example I'm sure) or have chosen a stance contrary to the first presidency . I think these are fitting words for them to read. The whole devotional is an amazing read. Print it, read it with a highlighter and discuss it with someone. In my opinion, there are no fence sitters here, no grey area. You're either following the first presidency or you're not.

If you are ever wondering what the LDS Church's official stance on homosexuals in the church is, read this enlightening article also.

"Make no mistake about it, brothers and sisters, in the months and years ahead, events are likely to require each member to decide whether or not he will follow the First Presidency. Members will find it more difficult to halt longer between two opinions. President Marion G. Romney said, many years ago, that he had 'never hesitated to follow the counsel of the Authorities of the Church even though it crossed my social, professional or political life.'

"This is hard doctrine, but it is particularly vital doctrine in a society which is becoming more wicked. In short, brothers and sisters, not being ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ includes not being ashamed of the prophets of Jesus Christ. . . . Your discipleship may see the time when such religious convictions are discounted. . . . This new irreligious imperialism seeks to disallow certain opinions simply because those opinions grow out of religious convictions.

"Resistance to abortion will be seen as primitive. Concern over the institution of the family will be viewed as untrendy and unenlightened.... Before the ultimate victory of the forces of righteousness, some skirmishes will be lost. Even in these, however, let us leave a record so that the choices are clear, letting others do as they will in the face of prophetic counsel. There will also be times, happily, when a minor defeat seems probable, but others will step forward, having been rallied to rightness by what we do. We will know the joy, on occasion, of having awakened a slumbering majority of the decent people of all races and creeds which was, till then, unconscious
of itself. Jesus said that when the fig trees put forth their leaves, 'summer is nigh.' Thus warned that summer is upon us, let us not then complain of the heat."--- Elder Neal A. Maxwell

I believe this will be my last post about this issue for a time but both Sean and I feel that this experience has really helped us grow and help us be more committed to the Truth and to our beliefs. We hope it has done the same for you.

Two more Days

This video just makes me proud. Had I known about this on Saturday, I would have been there. Its not that far from where we live (20 minutes)..... but we have been busy sending out mailers, calling, walking precincts, etc. Sean has been going out every morning at 7am - 8am to wave signs to people on their way to work. Our work will pay off....we will win. But if not, we can say we fought our hardest and wore our YES ON 8 shirts proudly (thanks Jennie).
YES ON 8

And while we're out there waving signs, the gay activists are working all the harder to get into our kids heads. Dominic just finished kindergarten last year. All I can see when I look at this card is Dominic's chicken-scratched name........it makes me cry. Why do we need to teach this to our kinder's? What purpose does it serve when we already teach them to be loving and kind to everyone?

Dear Ronald, I'm sorry you are caught in the middle of this. I'm sorry you are being subjected to someone else's agenda and being treated like a guinea pig. We are working our hardest to try to keep your education as pure as we can. Please know that we love you and we want you to be kind to everyone, EVERYONE. We're trying to keep people from confusing your little mind and stuffing it with unnecessary garb. Keep up the good work in school and learn to use your scissors, recognize your letters and know what sound they make, recognize those site words, learn your phone number, treat others fairly, learn your numbers and basic math. We'll do our best to take care of the rest. Say your prayers every night that the adults will figure it out before you get to first grade.

Love,

Yes on 8 campaign

Pray everyone, pray hard.

again, two days left. Here's the last commercial that will air in support of Proposition 8 : Go team go!
